Athletics and Extracurricular Activities

Sports can be the quintessential microcosm for life, and as such, we offer a variety of athletic programs for boys and girls to support their physical, emotional, and social development. The athletic programs at Woodmont Academy are designed for students of all ability levels. Coaches encourage teamwork and good sportsmanship at all times, and challenge the children to develop their potential.

Lower School Sports – Grades K-5
Sports at the elementary level emphasize participation and fun in an intramural setting. Soccer and lacrosse clinics as well as intramural games are played for students in grades K-5. Boys and girls third through fifth grade can participate in the Archdiocesan CYO Basketball League.

Upper School Sports – Grades 6-8
Students in grades 6-8 play on competitive teams against other private schools. Woodmont Academy participates in the Archdiocesan CYO Basketball League for games and tournaments. Boys baseball and girls softball are played in a private school league.

To sustain these athletic programs, the plans for our new campus include a gymnasium, swimming pool, tennis courts, and fields for soccer, baseball and softball.

Challenge Girls Club
&  Leadership Training Program (“LTP”) for boys
Woodmont Academy offers a variety of extra-curricular activities to enrich the classroom experience and allow students to pursue areas of personal interest. Students gather weekly to build friendships and put faith in action through leadership clubs, such as the Challenge Club for girls (grades 5 – 8) and the Leadership Training Program for boys (grades 5 -8).

Woodmont also offers a Junior Leadership Training Program for boys in grades 1 – 4.
